Andrew joined robotics as a freshman after being assured of its awesomeness by [[Max Kennard]]. Andrew rapidly grew into enjoying it, and became a regular attendee of all club meetings and events. Outside of robotics, Andrew swims for the PRHS team and is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society.

Winning an award at the Smoky Mountains Regional because Mr. Smith told me him to talk about the dynamic braking on the Minibot, which all other teams had but neglected to mention. Scouting was also one of Andrew's favorite experiences at both the 2011 regionals as it was a high intensity job that really paid off in the end.

==VEX Robotics Competition==
Instead of hosting a smaller [[FIRST Robotics Competition|FRC]] game like [[Underdrive|last year]], the Robolions decided it would be more beneficial to participate in the [[VEX Robotics Competition|VRC]] where members would continue to learn the basics about building robots before beginning the large robot in the Spring while also bringing something to the club in forms of community outreach, money, and somethingthe teamcould continue in the future with less effort than designing a entire game like [[Underdrive]].

This year's game was [[Clean Sweep (game)|Clean Sweep]].

===Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier===
This was the first yearthe teamhosted the [[Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier]]. [[2009|Last year]] the team held the [[Underdrive]] event, but this VEX Qualifier would be much more usable in the long run. With fields from [[Learning Labs Institute]] and [[Rick Folea]],the teamhad two fields for teams to compete on. [[Fred Smith]] found a magic box to put video output from cameras borrowed from [[Gene Kreeft]] onto the VEX Field Management Software. The event was held in the Commons and was split up in half to hold the pits and the game fields. The Master Coordinators of the event were [[Tanner Smith]] and [[Patrick Wortman]]. [[Sir Charles]] came by later in the day to assist.

===Lambert VEX Qualifier===
After a few weeks of build time after the [[Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier]], the team continued work on their robots for the Lambert VEX Qualifier. The first event was cancelled due to snow and rescheduled for the weekend after ship date for [[FRC]].

Three teams from the Robolions went to this qualifier, led by [[Sunny Gupta]], [[Logan Su]], and [[Deepan Mehta]]. All the teams were ranked all across the board, but overall none of them were in the top eight. Spite this fact, all teams were chosen by the top eight alliances to continue in the game.{{citation needed}}

The team led by [[Logan Su]] made it to Semi-Finals, while the teams led by [[Sunny Gupta]] and [[Deepan Mehta]] both made it to the finals (spite being on the same alliance) and eventually won the competition working with the RoboRaiders.

====Peachtree Regional====
After updating the robot with a new intake system - the suction/vacuum, the robot did not work as expected. The vacuum intake system proved to be very picky as far as alignment goes. However, with some improvement of the suction cups - mainly using a smaller tubing with a larger hole in the actual suction cup, the suction was improved.

The team made it to the Semi-Finals with {{TBA|1746}}and {{TBA|1758}}.

====Palmetto Regional====
After the [[Peachtree Regional]], the team came to the conclusion that the suction/vacuum system for the robot was not working out. Therefore the team mounted the new roller system that had been made and tweaked in the week between Peachtree and Palmetto.

On Friday at Palmetto the team made headway with the new system achieving a much higher ranking than Peachtree or ever at Palmetto. After moving up and down between the top eight and the top fifteen on the morning of Saturday. Before alliance selections, the team had a ranking of 11, just short of the top eight.<ref name="PalmettoRanking">[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/SC/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Palmetto Rankings]</ref>

After being picked by {{TBA|343}}as first pick and finishing off the first seed alliance with {{TBA|1398}}, the team made their way triumphantly through the quarter and semi-finals. In the first round of the finals, our alliance lost due to a disqualification caused by a bumper falling off on the opposing alliance. The next two finals were won without problems resulting in our alliance winning the [[Palmetto Regional]] for 2010.

The team's final ranking was 11th out of 34 teams, with a seeding score of 114.<ref name="PalmettoRanking"></ref>

====Championships====
On the robot, little was changed between the [[Palmetto Regional]] and Championships. A super structure was wanted to redirect balls by [[Sunny Gupta]] and [[Logan Su]], though it was decided overall that the idea wouldn't benefit the team enough to be worthwhile.

Matches played during the three days that qualification matches were held (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) resulted in the team staying in the high ranks of the Galileo division. The team had many moments in which the team was in the top eight teams.

The two of the three matches the team lost had specific failures. In the second lost match, a wire came loose on the roller motor due to a bad crimp. This resulted in the robot being unable to kick a ball really well. In the last lost match, the battery strap on the battery cut in half mysteriously causing the battery to fall off the robot and eventually caused the robot to be shut off. The strap was supposedly injured when the robot was tipped on its side in a previous match and the stress of the losing match caused the strap to break.

The team was not picked for alliance selection, despite the high ranking. The team however was the first back-up team for the Galileo division, though none of the robots broke down in the Galileo finals.

The team's final ranking was 16th out of 86 teams, with a seeding score of 203.<ref>[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/Galileo/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Championships Ranking - Galileo]</ref> The team had a win-loss-tie ratio of 6-3-1 after competeting.<ref name="tba2010">[http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/team/1261/2010 The Blue Alliance - Team 1261 in 2010]</ref>

====Camp Invention====
Over the summer the team took the Chimichanga over kids at Camp Invention to show them what robotics is all about and how these skills can help them later in life.

The team visited Parsons Elementary on June 24th and Mason Elementary on July 21st.

==Elections==
Elections in 2010 proved to be quite a small show with only one member going for [[President]] ([[Logan Su]]), five members going for [[Vice-President]], one member for [[Treasurer]] ([[Deepan Mehta]], and none for [[Secretary]] or [[Historian]].

In the end, the positions with only one candidate were easily decided, though the position for Vice-President was a close call. A first in the club's history, [[Katherine Li]], a freshman in this year (2010), became [[Vice-President]].

The vacant positions were agreed on to be absorbed into the existing positions until a second election could be held in fall of the next season ([[2011]]).

==VEX Robotics Competition==
Instead of hosting a smaller [[FIRST Robotics Competition|FRC]] game like [[Underdrive|last year]], the Robolions decided it would be more beneficial to participate in the [[VEX Robotics Competition|VRC]] where members would continue to learn the basics about building robots before beginning the large robot in the Spring while also bringing something to the club in forms of community outreach, money, and somethingthe teamcould continue in the future with less effort than designing a entire game like [[Underdrive]].

This year's game was [[Clean Sweep (game)|Clean Sweep]].

===Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier===
This was the first yearthe teamhosted the [[Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier]]. [[2009|Last year]] the team held the [[Underdrive]] event, but this VEX Qualifier would be much more usable in the long run. With fields from [[Learning Labs Institute]] and [[Rick Folea]],the teamhad two fields for teams to compete on. [[Fred Smith]] found a magic box to put video output from cameras borrowed from [[Gene Kreeft]] onto the VEX Field Management Software. The event was held in the Commons and was split up in half to hold the pits and the game fields. The Master Coordinators of the event were [[Tanner Smith]] and [[Patrick Wortman]]. [[Sir Charles]] came by later in the day to assist.

===Lambert VEX Qualifier===
After a few weeks of build time after the [[Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier]], the team continued work on their robots for the Lambert VEX Qualifier. The first event was cancelled due to snow and rescheduled for the weekend after ship date for [[FRC]].

Three teams from the Robolions went to this qualifier, led by [[Sunny Gupta]], [[Logan Su]], and [[Deepan Mehta]]. All the teams were ranked all across the board, but overall none of them were in the top eight. Spite this fact, all teams were chosen by the top eight alliances to continue in the game.{{citation needed}}

The team led by [[Logan Su]] made it to Semi-Finals, while the teams led by [[Sunny Gupta]] and [[Deepan Mehta]] both made it to the finals (spite being on the same alliance) and eventually won the competition working with the RoboRaiders.

====Peachtree Regional====
After updating the robot with a new intake system - the suction/vacuum, the robot did not work as expected. The vacuum intake system proved to be very picky as far as alignment goes. However, with some improvement of the suction cups - mainly using a smaller tubing with a larger hole in the actual suction cup, the suction was improved.

The team made it to the Semi-Finals with {{TBA|1746}}and {{TBA|1758}}.

The team's final ranking was 20th out of 49 teams, with a seeding score of 44.<ref>[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/GA/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Peachtree Rankings]</ref>

====Palmetto Regional====
After the [[Peachtree Regional]], the team came to the conclusion that the suction/vacuum system for the robot was not working out. Therefore the team mounted the new roller system that had been made and tweaked in the week between Peachtree and Palmetto.

On Friday at Palmetto the team made headway with the new system achieving a much higher ranking than Peachtree or ever at Palmetto. After moving up and down between the top eight and the top fifteen on the morning of Saturday. Before alliance selections, the team had a ranking of 11, just short of the top eight.<ref name="PalmettoRanking">[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/SC/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Palmetto Rankings]</ref>

After being picked by {{TBA|343}}as first pick and finishing off the first seed alliance with {{TBA|1398}}, the team made their way triumphantly through the quarter and semi-finals. In the first round of the finals, our alliance lost due to a disqualification caused by a bumper falling off on the opposing alliance. The next two finals were won without problems resulting in our alliance winning the [[Palmetto Regional]] for 2010.

The team's final ranking was 11th out of 34 teams, with a seeding score of 114.<ref name="PalmettoRanking"></ref>

====Championships====
On the robot, little was changed between the [[Palmetto Regional]] and Championships. A super structure was wanted to redirect balls by [[Sunny Gupta]] and [[Logan Su]], though it was decided overall that the idea wouldn't benefit the team enough to be worthwhile.

Matches played during the three days that qualification matches were held (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) resulted in the team staying in the high ranks of the Galileo division. The team had many moments in which the team was in the top eight teams.

The two of the three matches the team lost had specific failures. In the second lost match, a wire came loose on the roller motor due to a bad crimp. This resulted in the robot being unable to kick a ball really well. In the last lost match, the battery strap on the battery cut in half mysteriously causing the battery to fall off the robot and eventually caused the robot to be shut off. The strap was supposedly injured when the robot was tipped on its side in a previous match and the stress of the losing match caused the strap to break.

The team was not picked for alliance selection, despite the high ranking. The team however was the first back-up team for the Galileo division, though none of the robots broke down in the Galileo finals.

The team's final ranking was 16th out of 86 teams, with a seeding score of 203.<ref>[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/Galileo/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Championships Ranking - Galileo]</ref> The team had a win-loss-tie ratio of 6-3-1 after competeting.<ref name="tba2010">[http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/team/1261/2010 The Blue Alliance - Team 1261 in 2010]</ref>

Over the summer the team took the Chimichanga over kids at Camp Invention to show them what robotics is all about and how these skills can help them later in life.

The team visited Parsons Elementary on June 24th and Mason Elementary on July 21st.

==Elections==
Elections in 2010 proved to be quite a small show with only one member going for [[President]] ([[Logan Su]]), five members going for [[Vice-President]], one member for [[Treasurer]] ([[Deepan Mehta]], and none for [[Secretary]] or [[Historian]].

In the end, the positions with only one candidate were easily decided, though the position for Vice-President was a close call. A first in the club's history, [[Katherine Li]], a freshman in this year (2010), became [[Vice-President]].

The vacant positions were agreed on to be absorbed into the existing positions until a second election could be held in fall of the next season ([[2011]]).

==Updating Wordpress==
#Before commencing the update of Wordpress, first it is good practice to download a copy of the Wordpress files.
##From the Dashboard, click "BackUpWordPress" at the bottom of the left navigation bar.
##From the table, click "Download" on the row of the latest backup.
##Once the file is finished downloading, you're ready to begin to upgrade.
#To begin upgrading, first you must make your way to the upgrade page. This can be accomplished by either clicking the link at the top of every Wordpress Admin page informing you to upgrade or by selecting Tools in the left hand navigation bar and then "Upgrade".

==VEX Robotics Competition==
Instead of hosting a smaller [[FIRST Robotics Competition|FRC]] game like [[Underdrive|last year]], the Robolions decided it would be more beneficial to participate in the [[VEX Robotics Competition|VRC]] where members would continue to learn the basics about building robots before beginning the large robot in the Spring while also bringing something to the club in forms of community outreach, money, and somethingthe teamcould continue in the future with less effort than designing a entire game like [[Underdrive]].

This year's game was [[Clean Sweep (game)|Clean Sweep]].

===Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier===
This was the first yearthe teamhosted the [[Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier]]. [[2009|Last year]] the team held the [[Underdrive]] event, but this VEX Qualifier would be much more usable in the long run. With fields from [[Learning Labs Institute]] and [[Rick Folea]],the teamhad two fields for teams to compete on. [[Fred Smith]] found a magic box to put video output from cameras borrowed from [[Gene Kreeft]] onto the VEX Field Management Software. The event was held in the Commons and was split up in half to hold the pits and the game fields. The Master Coordinators of the event were [[Tanner Smith]] and [[Patrick Wortman]]. [[Sir Charles]] came by later in the day to assist.

===Lambert VEX Qualifier===
After a few weeks of build time after the [[Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier]], the team continued work on their robots for the Lambert VEX Qualifier. The first event was cancelled due to snow and rescheduled for the weekend after ship date for [[FRC]].

Three teams from the Robolions went to this qualifier, led by [[Sunny Gupta]], [[Logan Su]], and [[Deepan Mehta]]. All the teams were ranked all across the board, but overall none of them were in the top eight. Spite this fact, all teams were chosen by the top eight alliances to continue in the game.{{citation needed}}

The team led by [[Logan Su]] made it to Semi-Finals, while the teams led by [[Sunny Gupta]] and [[Deepan Mehta]] both made it to the finals (spite being on the same alliance) and eventually won the competition working with the RoboRaiders.

====Peachtree Regional====
After updating the robot with a new intake system - the suction/vacuum, the robot did not work as expected. The vacuum intake system proved to be very picky as far as alignment goes. However, with some improvement of the suction cups - mainly using a smaller tubing with a larger hole in the actual suction cup, the suction was improved.

The team made it to the Semi-Finals with {{TBA|1746}}and {{TBA|1758}}.

The team's final ranking was 20th out of 49 teams, with a seeding score of 44.<ref>[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/GA/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Peachtree Rankings]</ref>

====Palmetto Regional====
After the [[Peachtree Regional]], the team came to the conclusion that the suction/vacuum system for the robot was not working out. Therefore the team mounted the new roller system that had been made and tweaked in the week between Peachtree and Palmetto.

On Friday at Palmetto the team made headway with the new system achieving a much higher ranking than Peachtree or ever at Palmetto. After moving up and down between the top eight and the top fifteen on the morning of Saturday. Before alliance selections, the team had a ranking of 11, just short of the top eight.<ref name="PalmettoRanking">[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/SC/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Palmetto Rankings]</ref>

After being picked by {{TBA|343}}as first pick and finishing off the first seed alliance with {{TBA|1398}}, the team made their way triumphantly through the quarter and semi-finals. In the first round of the finals, our alliance lost due to a disqualification caused by a bumper falling off on the opposing alliance. The next two finals were won without problems resulting in our alliance winning the [[Palmetto Regional]] for 2010.

The team's final ranking was 11th out of 34 teams, with a seeding score of 114.<ref name="PalmettoRanking"></ref>

====Championships====
On the robot, little was changed between the [[Palmetto Regional]] and Championships. A super structure was wanted to redirect balls by [[Sunny Gupta]] and [[Logan Su]], though it was decided overall that the idea wouldn't benefit the team enough to be worthwhile.

Matches played during the three days that qualification matches were held (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) resulted in the team staying in the high ranks of the Galileo division. The team had many moments in which the team was in the top eight teams.

The two of the three matches the team lost had specific failures. In the second lost match, a wire came loose on the roller motor due to a bad crimp. This resulted in the robot being unable to kick a ball really well. In the last lost match, the battery strap on the battery cut in half mysteriously causing the battery to fall off the robot and eventually caused the robot to be shut off. The strap was supposedly injured when the robot was tipped on its side in a previous match and the stress of the losing match caused the strap to break.

The team was not picked for alliance selection, despite the high ranking. The team however was the first back-up team for the Galileo division, though none of the robots broke down in the Galileo finals.

The team's final ranking was 16th out of 86 teams, with a seeding score of 203.<ref>[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/Galileo/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Championships Ranking - Galileo]</ref> The team had a win-loss-tie ratio of 6-3-1 after competeting.<ref name="tba2010">[http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/team/1261/2010 The Blue Alliance - Team 1261 in 2010]</ref>

==Elections==
Elections in 2010 proved to be quite a small show with only one member going for [[President]] ([[Logan Su]]), five members going for [[Vice-President]], one member for [[Treasurer]] ([[Deepan Mehta]], and none for [[Secretary]] or [[Historian]].

In the end, the positions with only one candidate were easily decided, though the position for Vice-President was a close call. A first in the club's history, [[Katherine Li]], a freshman in this year (2010), became [[Vice-President]].

The vacant positions were agreed on to be absorbed into the existing positions until a second election could be held in fall of the next season ([[2011]]).

The [[2010]] shirt reverted back to the school colors of blue and white from the team's line of black colored shirts. The shirt was a baseball style shirt with sleeves at the forearm. The shoulders/sleeves were blue with the rest of the shirt being white.

The [[2009]] shirt was a simple shirt going for only left chest artwork instead of having the entire front side of the shirt being filled with artwork. On the artwork was the circuit lion with the words "Peachtree Ridge High School" above the lion and "Team 1261 Robo Lions" below.

The back of the shirt contained "1261" in big print with "Robo Lions" below the team number curved slightly. The rest of the back contained the various [[Sponsors#2009|sponsors]] for [[2009]].

The front of the [[2008]] shirt was full of a grid-like artwork design with red borders. On the front of the shirt was "1261" on the right side written vertically along with the circuit lion to the left and "Peachtree Ridge High School Robo Lions" written above the lion.

The shirt itself was a dark blue and featured the [[FIRST]] [[Overdrive]] logo on the outside of the right shoulder.

The back of the shirt contained "1261" in large text above a very large [[Motorola]] logo along with other [[Sponsors#2008|sponsors]] for [[2008]].

The [[2007]] shirt was perhaps the start of the black/dark shirt era for the team. The front of the shirt had "Team 1261" written sideways on the right side of the front along with the circuit lion with "PRHS Robotics" below in the center.

==VEX Robotics Competition==
Instead of hosting a smaller [[FIRST Robotics Competition|FRC]] game like [[Underdrive|last year]], the Robolions decided it would be more beneficial to participate in the [[VEX Robotics Competition|VRC]] where members would continue to learn the basics about building robots before beginning the large robot in the Spring while also bringing something to the club in forms of community outreach, money, and somethingthe teamcould continue in the future with less effort than designing a entire game like [[Underdrive]].

This year's game was [[Clean Sweep (game)|Clean Sweep]].

===Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier===
This was the first yearthe teamhosted the [[Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier]]. [[2009|Last year]] the team held the [[Underdrive]] event, but this VEX Qualifier would be much more usable in the long run. With fields from [[Learning Labs Institute]] and [[Rick Folea]],the teamhad two fields for teams to compete on. [[Fred Smith]] found a magic box to put video output from cameras borrowed from [[Gene Kreeft]] onto the VEX Field Management Software. The event was held in the Commons and was split up in half to hold the pits and the game fields. The Master Coordinators of the event were [[Tanner Smith]] and [[Patrick Wortman]]. [[Sir Charles]] came by later in the day to assist.

===Lambert VEX Qualifier===
After a few weeks of build time after the [[Peachtree Ridge VEX Qualifier]], the team continued work on their robots for the Lambert VEX Qualifier. The first event was cancelled due to snow and rescheduled for the weekend after ship date for [[FRC]].

Three teams from the Robolions went to this qualifier, led by [[Sunny Gupta]], [[Logan Su]], and [[Deepan Mehta]]. All the teams were ranked all across the board, but overall none of them were in the top eight. Spite this fact, all teams were chosen by the top eight alliances to continue in the game.{{citation needed}}

The team led by [[Logan Su]] made it to Semi-Finals, while the teams led by [[Sunny Gupta]] and [[Deepan Mehta]] both made it to the finals (spite being on the same alliance) and eventually won the competition working with the RoboRaiders.

====Peachtree Regional====
After updating the robot with a new intake system - the suction/vacuum, the robot did not work as expected. The vacuum intake system proved to be very picky as far as alignment goes. However, with some improvement of the suction cups - mainly using a smaller tubing with a larger hole in the actual suction cup, the suction was improved.

The team made it to the Semi-Finals with {{TBA|1746}}and {{TBA|1758}}.

The team's final ranking was 20th out of 49 teams, with a seeding score of 44.<ref>[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/GA/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Peachtree Rankings]</ref>

====Palmetto Regional====
After the [[Peachtree Regional]], the team came to the conclusion that the suction/vacuum system for the robot was not working out. Therefore the team mounted the new roller system that had been made and tweaked in the week between Peachtree and Palmetto.

On Friday at Palmetto the team made headway with the new system achieving a much higher ranking than Peachtree or ever at Palmetto. After moving up and down between the top eight and the top fifteen on the morning of Saturday. Before alliance selections, the team had a ranking of 11, just short of the top eight.<ref name="PalmettoRanking">[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/SC/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Palmetto Rankings]</ref>

After being picked by {{TBA|343}}as first pick and finishing off the first seed alliance with {{TBA|1398}}, the team made their way triumphantly through the quarter and semi-finals. In the first round of the finals, our alliance lost due to a disqualification caused by a bumper falling off on the opposing alliance. The next two finals were won without problems resulting in our alliance winning the [[Palmetto Regional]] for 2010.

The team's final ranking was 11th out of 34 teams, with a seeding score of 114.<ref name="PalmettoRanking"></ref>

====Championships====
On the robot, little was changed between the [[Palmetto Regional]] and Championships. A super structure was wanted to redirect balls by [[Sunny Gupta]] and [[Logan Su]], though it was decided overall that the idea wouldn't benefit the team enough to be worthwhile.

Matches played during the three days that qualification matches were held (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) resulted in the team staying in the high ranks of the Galileo division. The team had many moments in which the team was in the top eight teams.

The two of the three matches the team lost had specific failures. In the second lost match, a wire came loose on the roller motor due to a bad crimp. This resulted in the robot being unable to kick a ball really well. In the last lost match, the battery strap on the battery cut in half mysteriously causing the battery to fall off the robot and eventually caused the robot to be shut off. The strap was supposedly injured when the robot was tipped on its side in a previous match and the stress of the losing match caused the strap to break.

The team was not picked for alliance selection, despite the high ranking. The team however was the first back-up team for the Galileo division, though none of the robots broke down in the Galileo finals.

The team's final ranking was 16th out of 86 teams, with a seeding score of 203.<ref>[http://www2.usfirst.org/2010comp/events/Galileo/rankings.html Official FIRST 2010 Championships Ranking - Galileo]</ref> The team had a win-loss-tie ratio of 6-3-1 after competeting.<ref name="tba2010">[http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/team/1261/2010 The Blue Alliance - Team 1261 in 2010]</ref>

This year the team submitted the Website Award, the Woodie Flowers Award for [[Mary Rutland]], and the Dean's List Award for [[Tanner Smith]].

==Elections==
Elections in 2010 proved to be quite a small show with only one member going for [[President]] ([[Logan Su]]), five members going for [[Vice-President]], one member for [[Treasurer]] ([[Deepan Mehta]], and none for [[Secretary]] or [[Historian]].

In the end, the positions with only one candidate were easily decided, though the position for Vice-President was a close call. A first in the club's history, [[Katherine Li]], a freshman in this year (2010), became [[Vice-President]].

The vacant positions were agreed on to be absorbed into the existing positions until a second election could be held in fall of the next season ([[2011]]).

====Palmetto Regional====
At the [[Palmetto Regional]], the Robolions overall did not have a very high rank due to just being selected to play with not-so-well robots. However, this did not deter the Robolions as the team was chosen by {{TBA|1746}}. The alliance of the Robolions, the Forsyth Alliance, and {{TBA|1051}}made it as far as the semi-finals almost winning and making it to the finals until one member of the Forsyth Alliance accidently stepped forward during autonomous. This caused the alliance to be disqualified from the match and to lose the last chance to get to the finals.

The team's final ranking was 42nd out of 44 teams, with a win-loss-tie ratio of 1-8-0.<ref>[http://www2.usfirst.org/2009comp/events/SC/rankings.html Official FIRST 2009 Palmetto Rankings]</ref>

For the Peachtree Regional social, the team hosted their own social at [[Jarrod Leddy]]'s house. There the team played XBox 360 in a movie room while enjoying ping pong, Rock Band, and card games. The day was also [[Daniel Peterson]]'s birthday.

In April, the team attended a bill signing at the Georgia Capitol. Governor Sonny Perdue was signing a bill that will increase the pay for certified math and science teachers in the state. The team along with several other [[FIRST]] teams drove the robot and witnessed the bill signing.

The game in 2008 was [[Overdrive]].

===Robots===
Using a combination of beef and brute, the Robolions came up with [[Longshot]] for their robot. Inspired off of innovation, the robot successfully impressed [[Sir Charles]] on multiple occasions. Using surgical tubing and a few other mechanical devices, Longshot launched the large game balls 6-8 feet into the air, clearly clearing the overpass game element and thus scoring multiple points.

In 2008, the Robolions attended two regionals: [[Peachtree Regional]] and [[Palmetto Regional]]. We also paid our way into Championships.

To aid in picking the pit crew that attended the regionals on Thursday and Friday, the [[Executives|executives]] made [[Member Cards|member cards]].

====Peachtree Regional====
At the [[Peachtree Regional]], the team managed a 13th place ranking, and gladly joined the second seed alliance creating a alliance with {{TBA|832}}and {{TBA|1648}}. Unfortunately, the alliance fell short in the semi-finals.

====Palmetto Regional====
This was the first yearthe teamattended the [[Palmetto Regional]] andthe teamwere chosen by the second seed alliance creating a alliance with {{TBA|1051}}and {{TBA|2237}}. Howeverthe teamwere again defeated in the semi-finals.

At [[Championships]], the team had 4 win and 3 losses, but failed to get into the finals. The experience though was helpful for many new members.

===Overview===
The robot built by the team could effectively score in the three point range. In the [[Georgia FTC Tournament]], they ranked 13th overall, but were picked up quickly by the 8th seeded alliance. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the semi-finals.

This year's game was [[Quad Quandary]] in which teams had to pick up PVC rings and score them onto goals for either three or five points. Teams could score bonus points by making sure that goals were in their alliance's zone at the end of the match.

In 2007, the game was [[Rack 'n' Roll]].

===Robots===
This year's robot was [[Thunderhorse]]. It was one of the two robots built in the beginning of the season, but by the early weeks Thunderhorse was the that was chosen to be continued to work on. In the beginning, the robot was created by [[Keefer Dunn]] and [[Patrick Harrington]]. The highly effective manipulator and the team's secret, [[unobtainium]], seem to make this robot very effective overall.

The team also attempted to build another robot, named the [[Nimble Gimbal]], but due to the complexity of the design the robot was not able to be built in time for the robot to be finalized for the competition.

At the [[Peachtree Regional]] the Robolions were one of the first teams to score all the way around the game scoring element ending a match with a total of 256 points (the highest score of the event).

The team made it all the way to the semi-finals, but due to our opponents’ defensive tactics, our alliance of {{TBA|1746}}and {{TBA|1057}}lost.

===ISTE Atlanta===

On June 24th, 2007 the team was invited to have a demo of the robot at the "International Society for Technology in Education" in Atlanta along with several other Georgia teams. The team drove the robot on a replica Rack 'n Roll field while talking to teachers of high school and middle school about incorporating robotics into the curriculum.
